Digital Camouflage
Installation, 2025
Digital Camouflage is a garment designed to “trick” artificial intelligence systems that use computer vision to detect people. At first glance, it looks like a piece of clothing with an abstract pattern, but in fact it is a textile design specifically created to confuse object recognition algorithms used in surveillance, security, or autonomous systems.
The pattern is based on what is known as an "adversarial attack": a way of manipulating the visual data received by a machine so that it fails to properly recognize what is in front of it. When someone wears this garment, their body becomes "invisible" to the system—the algorithm fails to detect the presence of a person.
